Last month Ubisoft announced that Player's Pack Red Edition, new download content for Rainbow Six: Vegas on Xbox 360, would be released at the end of March and we're now here - so where is it?
Still in the development bowels of publisher headquarters, that's where, Ubisoft confirming that it's been delayed. A little late on the announcement there, but it's promised that it'll "communicate on its new release date as soon as we can".
Content featuring in the download hasn't changed since its announcement, the company added.
Player's Pack Red Edition includes three brand new multiplayer maps, two 'relit' multiplayer maps and two new multiplayer game modes
Player's Pack Red Edition two new modes - we'll deal with those first - are Assassination and Total Conquest. Assassination tasks an attacking team with eliminating a VIP, while the opposing team must defend and escort the VIP to an extraction zone. That sounds somewhat familiar.

Total Conquest, meanwhile, throws up a control-point scenario two teams battle to activate and maintain control of Mobile Radar Installations. A team wins if it activates and maintains control of one of three installations in a map for a certain period of time.
Both new game modes are playable in Vegas's original 10 maps and the new maps featuring in the download content.
Speaking of, Doscala Restaurant, Marshalling Yard and Roof are the three brand new adversarial maps included in Player's Pack Red Edition, while Border Town and Killhouse have been relit "for a new gameplay experience", says Ubisoft.
* Doscala Restaurant: This well known Italian restaurant is located in the heart Las Vegas, near the famous Fremont Street.
* Marshalling Yard: This century-old service yard is situated in the center of an industrial district. Still active today, it is primarily used to store cars, but is also equipped with cleaning and maintenance facilities.
* Roof: A Coffee Factory has been overrun in the continuing gang violence that is wreaking havoc in this border town. The strategic positioning of the factory makes it highly desirable to control, making it a focal point of the violence. |
